Who we are
The Microfinance Initiative Liechtenstein (MIL) is a true public-private partnership: Private and public institutions are jointly engaged on behalf of strengthening microfinance. The Liechtenstein Bankers Association, the Hilti Family Foundation, the Medicor Foundation, the Liechtenstein University of Applied Sciences, the Liechtenstein Development Service (LED), the Enabling Microfinance (EMF) and the Liechtenstein Government, represented by the Office for Foreign Affairs (AAA), regularly meet in a working group to initiate Liechtenstein's engagement on behalf of microfinance and to coordinate joint activities.

The executive team of the MIL is composed as follows:

  • Enabling Microfinance: Christoph Dreher
  • Hilti Family Foundation: Markus Hilti
  • Liechtenstein University, Institute for Financial Services: Prof. Dr. Marco J. Menichetti
  • Liechtenstein Bankers Association: Mike Lauber
  • Liechtenstein Development Service: Pius Frick
  • Liechtenstein Government, represented by the AAA: Christine Lingg
  • Medicor Foundation: Anton Lotzer

Goals
The MIL promotes microfinance in a wide variety of ways. It makes an effective and entrepreneurial contribution to fighting poverty in developing countries. Liechtenstein is positioning itself as an active and competent agent in the field of microfinance.

MIL shares it's engagement for social responsible and at the same time entrepreneurial initiatives with the LIFE Climate Foundation (www.klimastiftung.li).
